Q. When should I contact Three Season Landscaping, Inc. for a consultation?
A. If you are building a home, you should contact TSL, Inc. when the land is purchased, well before the house is built. Crucial details, such as the placement of the house on the land in an environmentally sensitive manner and driveway layout, should be designed well in advance of construction of the home. |

Q. I am ready to build my dream home. I have budgeted enough for the architectural plan, the site work, the construction of the house, the septic design and the well. I’ll move into my home and save up for the landscaping later, or I’ll pick up a few shrubs myself. Have I forgotten anything?
A. Yes. Landscaping is much more than beautifying your home with trees and shrubs. Many homeowners live in their new homes for years without a walkway to their front door or a finished driveway, and without addressing drainage and slope erosion problems. A small problem turns into major damage over time, so budgeting for landscaping now will alleviate problems and add tremendous value to your home, increase safety and security, and turn your property into an enjoyable environment. |

Q. I would like to hire Three Season Landscaping for my landscape installation, but would like to see a landscape plan. If I hire you for the job, I assume the design would be free?
A. The landscape design and the landscape project are geared towards your budget. Depending on the scope and complexity of the project, this can range anywhere from a concept, to a master plan, to the Wetland/Shoreland Permitting Process. We both need to visualize the ideas that we discuss at our initial meeting on paper in advance of construction. The plan will prompt discussions about sizes, shapes and quantities of proposed features, eliminating questions and surprises. Our crew, and other contractors involved in your project, uses the plan when construction begins. Most importantly, we can give an accurate price for installation of the project when we can calculate material costs, plant costs, and square footage of patios, walkways and stone walls, based on a plan drawn to scale. This allows you to count on actual costs as opposed to an estimate. Design work takes time, expertise and experience, and is not done on the spot in a “free estimate.” |
